Job Summary

Responsible to improve access to patient care by increasing availability of audiology services; increasing productivity and enhancing patient satisfaction. Participate in care in a unique healthcare setting, which are characterized by efficient, focused care of patients. Works seamlessly with audiologists, physicians, nurses and front line staff, to serve our patients efficiently. Consistently demonstrates the ability to provide appropriate services and care in accordance with the unique needs inherent to patient’s age and culture. Assists in hearing aid and ear mold sales and repairs while managing all hearing aid paperwork associated. Provide comprehensive technical support with the audiologists to patients with hearing deficits. Assist with hearing conservation programs. Prepare audiograms, as well as after testing, ensure audiogram is entered for hearing aid fittings. Completes comprehensive hearing assessments using age appropriate testing methods and equipment as directed by physician or audiologist. Performs hearing tests, computer testing of hearing aids, sell and adjust hearing aids. Provides counseling of care, use and maintenance for all hearing aid fittings. Follow up calls to clients fit with hearing aids. Act as support staff for the Audiologist. Will be responsible for in-service at nursing homes, if requested.

Assists in collecting and preparing departmental needs for data transformation. Responsible for hearing aid charts as well as filing paperwork associated with hearing aid and ear mold sales and repairs. Assists in tasks including, but not limited to: answering telephones, scheduling of appointments, taking payments, verifying personal data and insurance, checking in and out of scheduled clients, completing work-queue scheduling, sanitizing of equipment, and patient areas. Ensure the integrity of all inventory, equipment and supplies, including: availability, repairs, restocking, ordering, cleaning, and that accessories are plugged in and charged for use.

Completes and maintains all continuing education requirements annually assigned. Maintains knowledge of care, use and maintenance of hearing aids.

Qualifications

Knowledge of the principles, concepts and methodology needed to perform duties associated with providing audiometric testing. Knowledge of care, use and maintenance of hearing aids. Interpretation of audiogram and tympanogram is helpful.

Licensed as a Hearing Aid Dispenser in the state(s) of practice through the appropriate state licensure board required.
