Failsafe Officer Ophthalmology Business Unit Band 3 Pilgrim or Lincoln

An exciting opportunity has arisen within The Department of Ophthalmology. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual for the site of Pilgrim or Lincoln. The Failsafe Officer will support the Ophthalmology service and ensure patients are managed within the guideline timescales. The post of Failsafe Officer will provide the interface between clinicians, supporting staff and patients to manage and develop the overall patient pathway to ensure that patients are seen and treated within the correct timescales in order to maintain patient safety.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic team player with excellent customer care and interpersonal skills. You will be required to have GCSE English Language Grade C or equivalent, Word/Text Processing Skills or have equivalent knowledge acquired through further experience. Customer Service experience is preferable and knowledge of RTT 18 week pathways and validation processes.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

GCSE English Language Grade C or equivalent Word processing skills to RSA III or equivalent knowledge acquired through relevant experience

Desirable

Medical secretary qualifications 4 GCSE Grade C or equivalent NVQ III or equivalent

Previous Experience

Essential

Recent Medical Secretarial experience Working knowledge of Patient Administration System(s) Practical experience, and knowledge of, validation of 18 week RTT pathways

Desirable

Knowledge of medical terminology
