About the Role
As our Production Planner, you'll be the driving force behind our production scheduling, ensuring our operations run like a well-oiled machine. You'll collaborate with various departments, strategize to meet customer needs, and adapt daily to keep our production on track and efficient.
What You'll Do
- Own the Schedule: Manage and maintain our daily active production schedule, keeping everything running smoothly.
- Streamline Operations: Coordinate production workflows throughout the entire production cycle, optimizing processes for maximum efficiency.
- Plan for Success: Strategically plan and prioritize operations to meet customer demands while maximizing our production capacity.
- Collaborate & Lead: Work closely with department supervisors to coordinate overtime and manpower requirements, ensuring we meet production goals.
- Monitor Performance: Keep a vigilant eye on jobs to ensure they stay within quoted man-hours, maintaining budget and timeline integrity.
- Solve Problems Swiftly: Address any production issues promptly, minimizing disruptions and providing effective solutions.
- Communicate Effectively: Prepare and submit status and performance reports, keeping all stakeholders informed and engaged.
- Foster Team Synergy: Collaborate with supervisors, project managers, quality control, and other staff to ensure accurate scheduling and unified efforts.
What We're Looking For
- Experience Matters: 3+ years as a production planner with a proven track record.
- Process Proficiency: Strong understanding of production planning processes.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems, with solid Excel skills as your primary scheduling tool.
- Organized & Analytical: Exceptional organizational skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Communication Whiz: Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of staff.
- Industry Insight: Experience in steel fabrication and job shop environments is a big plus.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma required; additional education or certifications preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Active Engagement: Ability to access all areas of the facility to assess needs.
- Light Lifting: Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
- Focused Work: Comfortable with prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer.
