ELECTRICAL ENGINEER, FACILITIES (STARLINK)

As an Electrical Engineer at our Starlink Production facility, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, integrity, and efficiency of our electrical distribution systems. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, evaluating, and improving various electrical systems site-wide, including substation, switchgear, power distribution, lighting, UPS, Motor Control Centers, VFDs, and generators. Your expertise will drive continuous improvement initiatives, support sustainability goals, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Additionally, you will be tasked with designing upgrades and overseeing the installation of new assembly lines and processes, with the goal of creating a world-class facility that can support the mission of connecting people across the globe and enabling life beyond Earth. This position is based in Bastrop, Texas (Greater Austin, TX Area).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide engineering support for the design, operation, improvement, and troubleshooting of all facility electrical components and systems, including load flow analysis, equipment evaluation, grounding systems, and power monitoringCoordinate downtime activities between maintenance, construction, and production teams to minimize disruptionsDrive electrical distribution improvement projects using design change requests, power monitoring data, and advanced detection methodsTroubleshoot electrical system problems, conduct breaker coordination, arc flash studies, and track electrical load and capacityCoordinate material procurement for equipment upkeepWrite, negotiate, and manage construction contracts with subcontractors across multiple disciplines through contract close-outCollaborate within interdisciplinary teams to design, optimize, and maintain electrical systemsProvide electrical engineering support to facility technicians to troubleshoot existing electrical equipment and controllersOversee equipment installation, operation, and maintenance to meet specified parameters

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or other engineering discipline3+ years of experience in industrial electrical engineering and medium or high voltage power systems

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

5+ years of professional experience with the design or build of commercial or industrial power systemsPrimary experience with electrical and power distribution systems (
