A Snapshot of Your Day (position overview)

The Fleet Specialist is responsible for handling Siemens Energy GT SV fleet of vehicles which includes 3500 trucks, tool trailers, semi-trucks, & trailers. You'll be responsible for the service, repair & procurement of Siemens Energy vehicles, ensuring DOT compliance, 100% accuracy of driver logs, and maintains driver files. Additionally, develop reports showing transportation costs on precise projects and moves.

How You’ll Make an Impact (responsibilities)

Uphold company policy and legal standards, including managing ELDs, IFTA UCR, and MCIR updates. Keep accurate records of vehicle services, inspections, and driver documentation. Onboard and train new drivers, ensuring they're fully integrated into the SE system. Ensure fleet vehicles and trailers are licensed and inspected annually. Oversee vehicle procurement and maintenance for optimal fleet performance. Manage fuel card program for heavy vehicles and maintain comprehensive customer and competitor records. Adhere to DOT laws and regulations to maintain high safety standards. Schedule regular maintenance and inspections to enhance vehicle uptime and efficiency. Apply GPS for real-time driver and vehicle monitoring, ensuring compliance. Maintain and disseminate reports on driver safety, vehicle maintenance, and damages. Perform audits on documentation and installations to minimize risk and loss. Promptly authorize repair requests to minimize downtime. Coordinate maintenance, repairs, and overhauls in line with company standards. Arrange logistics for the transportation of essential tools and equipment.

What You Bring (requirements)

Knowledge of applicable state and federal DOT laws Strong technical knowledge of commercial truck system components Physically capable of inspecting vehicles, climbing in and out of semi-trucks Detailed mechanical skills &/or knowledge of diesel vehicles Understand vehicle systems, mechanics, and technology sufficiently to authorize repairs and accurately evaluate Finance and accounting literacy Extensive technical skills including the proficient application of MS office, spreadsheets, graphics, power point and database programs as well as effective word-processing skills. 2+ years in a fleet role preferred CDL Driver's License preferred Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
