School Psychologist

Location: Newington, CT area

Employment Type: Contracted position through Soliant Schools

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate School Psychologist to join our team in the Newington, CT area. This position is supported by two other School Psychologists and primarily involves testing with the possibility of evaluations as needed. The role will span the remainder of this school year and extend into the fall, providing continuity and support to our students.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments and testing in accordance with state and district guidelines
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement interventions
  • Provide support for students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to the development of IEP goals
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student records

Qualifications:

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology
  • Connecticut State Certification as a School Psychologist
  • Previous experience in a school setting preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations pertaining to special education
