Telemetry Tech (FT) Nights - Johnson City, TN Job ID: 004F12 JOHNSON CITY MEDICAL CENTER Nursing Support - Telemetry Full-time (scheduled 72 hrs or more per pay period) - NightJob Description SCOPE OF POSITIONThe Telemetry Technician is responsible for observing both telemetry and hardware monitor central stations continuously, to identify possible cardiac arrhythmias, and to notify the primary nurse with any change that is not normal for that patient. The Technician wil interpret rhythm strips at regular intervals and report any changes in the latest and previous strips to the nurse. The Technician will participate in maintaining an accurate tracking system for the transmitters. This individual will demonstrate competency in the care of the Neonate, Infant, Child, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric patient populations. Additionally, the Technician will have access to patient information to perform the functions of this position; therfore the abilty to maintain confidentiality is a requirement. The Technician is also responsible for proper skin prep and lead placement on the patient. The Technician will ensure telemetry transmitters are programmed and conncted to the patient appropriately. The Technician has knowledge in troublshooting monitoring equipment. Once monitoring is complete, the Technician will retrieve the transmitter, clean the medical equipment, and prepare it for the next patient.REPORTING RELATIONSHIPSee Table of Organization.EDUCATION EXPERIENCEExperience in the medical field is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology. Arrhythmia class or equivalent required. High School diploma and/or GED required.
