Forklift Technician Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections of forklifts to identify and address mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot forklift problems to determine the most effective and efficient repair solutions.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication, to extend equipment lifespan.
  • Repair or replace faulty components and ensure all safety features are in proper working order.
  • Collaborate with the parts department to order necessary replacement parts and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working on forklifts to minimize accidents and injuries.
  • Keep detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities for documentation and analysis purposes.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience working on forklifts or heavy capital equipment.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues effectively.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and standards in equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members and parts departments.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining accurate records and documentation.
