The activity therapy program will Include recreational, occupational and other creative therapies. The Activity Therapist works cooperatively with ancillary, nursing, and other patient care personnel and maintains standards according to hospital and departmental objectives. Part Time, 32 hours per pay period. Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Recreation Therapy or related field. Prefer two years experience in this field. Will consider an LCPC or LCSW, and/or a candidate with a degree in Music Therapy or Art Therapy.Prefer a candidate who meets the standards of the NCTRC.Required to establish a therapeutic relationship with the patients. Required to assist in handling verbally and physically abusive patients. Must be emotionally mature with the ability to gain insight into the patient's emotional and physical problems. Previous experience with psychiatric patients preferred.At KSB, we are committed to transparency in our pay practices and publish the range of pay (minimum and maximum) for each position. Follows the policy for release of information.Safety Has received training, know and meets all job relevant standards related to OSHA, Fire, Safety and Utilities, Security, Emergency Preparedness, etc. Complies with all safety policies using proper tools in order to provide a safe work environment. Wears ID Badge at all times. When lifting heavy items always use proper lifting techniques. Addresses Employee/Patient incidents promptly, identifies and mitigates risks, follows Hand Hygiene guidelines, medication reconciliation (if applicable), and ventilator use (if applicable) all in accordance with KSB policies.Teamwork Works well with other members of his/her department to promote a team effort for the good of the department's functions. Recognizes and rewards success.Required In-Services all applicable required in-services have been completed for the evaluation year.
