Pharmacy Technician

We are currently hiring for an Order Entry/Pharmacy Technician in the Bridgeville area Job Title: Pharmacy Technician/Order Entry Associate Location: Bridgeville, PA Pay: $17-$19/hour Shift: Full Time, 40 hours/week -Variable schedule, need to have open availability between 7am-10pm M-F, 7a-7p on weekends. Rotating weekends, typically work every 3 weekends or so. GENERAL PURPOSE Join our team at a long-term care pharmacy in Bridgeville, PA, as a Pharmacy Technician/Order Entry Associate. Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, you will perform customer service work and order entry tasks to ensure superior patient care and customer service. Your role will contribute to the day-to-day operations of our closed-door pharmacy, fostering an environment of efficiency, staff retention, and high-quality service. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES - Communicate with nursing facilities, prescriber's offices, and insurance plans via phone or fax to fulfill orders and address inquiries.- Review orders for completeness before entering them into the system.- Collaborate with Billing Representatives to manage pending order claims.- Investigate and resolve issues such as missing deliveries or incorrect prescriptions.- Accurately input order information into the pharmacy system and calculate quantities.- Process various types of orders, including electronic prescriptions and refills.- Ensure orders are processed within established timelines and delivery windows.- Prepare first dose orders and verify patient profiles in the database.- Compute charges for dispensed medication and equipment, entering data into the computer.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & BEHAVIORS- Basic understanding of data entry and pharmacy operations.- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to handle inquiries with tact and professionalism.- Excellent oral communication skills.- Problem-solving abilities to identify and address billing errors efficiently.- Familiarity with automated tasking systems.- Team-oriented mindset with a cooperative approach to work.
