Position : Lab Technologist

Location : Sparks, MD

Duration : 12 Months Contract

Start Time : 7:00 PM

End Time : 5:00 AM

Total Hours/week :40.00

Hours: 7:00pm - 5:00am (Monday - Thursday)

Description:

  • Responsible for manufacturing and assembling clinical and commercial products. Operates production equipment.
  • Weighs, measures and checks raw materials to ensure batches manufactured contain proper ingredients and quantities.
  • Assists with in-process testing to ensure batches meet specifications.
  • Responsible for validating processes and equipment that are directly related to filtration, cleaning and sterilization.
  • Responsible for the removal and disposal of waste chemicals, solvents and acids. Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves complex issues associated with scientific operations.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Responsible for manufacturing and assembling clinical and commercial products. Operates production equipment.
  • Weighs, measures and checks raw materials to ensure batches manufactured contain proper ingredients and quantities.
  • Assists with in-process testing to ensure batches meet specifications.
  • Responsible for validating processes and equipment that are directly related to filtration, cleaning and sterilization.
  • Responsible for the removal and disposal of waste chemicals, solvents and acids.
  • Creates solutions, powders, and liquids for batches to meet specifications
  • Provides training support for on-boarding and/or new procedures
  • Provides support to the lead/supervisor when necessary
  • Provides continuous improvement recommendations and/or solutions to support overall operational efficiency
  • Demonstrates the ability to follow established procedures according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Must follow all client housekeeping policies and procedures
  • Must follow all client safety policies and procedures
  • Must be able to work overtime as required to meet client business requirements

Qualifications

Minimum Education/Experience:

  • High school with technical certification in the area of laboratory operations plus 3 years laboratory experience, AS degree in a scientific discipline with 2-3 years laboratory experience,
  • BS degree in a scientific discipline plus 1-2 years laboratory experience

Basic Skills:

  • Ability to demonstrate strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Must be detail-oriented
  • Strong time management skills required
  • Ability to operate independently

Proficient/Working Skills:

  • Must be proficient in English with the ability to read, write, analyze/evaluate charts, follow simple diagrams and perform basic arithmetic
  • Proficiency in MS Excel is required
