Medical Biller/Collector

Medix's Lewisville-based client is hiring for 6 Biller/Collectors to start immediately. Please apply if qualified and interestedContract to hire opportunity (6 months)Hybrid Opportunity (2 days in office; 3 days remote) AFTER 6 weeks of On-Site/In-person trainingDay to day:1. Data entry of charges and billing of claims to various insurance companies2. Medical AR follow-up procedures to include reviewing and working aging reports, denials andinsurance correspondence from various insurance carriers3. Ability to audit and analyze patient accounts4. Requires vast awareness of different medical software or the ability to learn new customizedsoftware quickly5. Payment posting and account reconciliation6. Review and process adjustments and refunds on patient accounts7. Support Programs by responding promptly and accurately to inquiries.8. Must be present during working hours at the office for in person meetings and access to acomputer without violating company policy.9. Remain composed in a stressful environment and deal with frequent deadlines and multiplepriorities.10. Utilize PracticeFusion (Waystar) as clearinghouseQualifications 1. Previous physician office and or hospital billing and follow up experience required (3 years)2. Must have strong working knowledge in Texas Medicaid, Medi-Cal and managed care plans3. Candidates must have experience in medical terminology, ICD-9 coding, CPT codes, UB04 and 1500 claim forms4. Compliance with all billing-related HIPAA policies5. Proficient in basic PC skills. Microsoft Word and Excel required6. Ability to multi-task and handle large volume of detail work accurately and efficiently andmeet deadlines7. Satisfactory references from employers and/or professional peers8. Satisfactory criminal background check Schedule/Shift Monday-FridayFlex-time between 7a-9a, but must complete 8 hour work shift Note: First 6 weeks are on-site for training.
