Our client, a rapidly growing local DME organization, is looking for a skilled Medical Biller to join their team in Malden. The ideal applicant will have 2+ years of Medical Billing experience, with experience submitting timely and accurate claims and collections.
Position Overview:
Job Title: Medical Billing Specialist
Location Malden, MA
Industry: Healthcare
Pay: $21-$25
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze medical records to assign appropriate codes using ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding systems
- Ensure accurate and complete documentation of procedures, diagnoses, and treatments
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by mail
- Follow up on unpaid claims and denials, identifying and resolving any billing discrepancies
- Maintain patient billing records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to resolve billing issues or disputes
- Stay updated on industry changes in medical coding, billing regulations/policies, and compliance requirements
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in Medical Billing/Coding is preferred
- 2+ years as a Billing Specialist or similar role in a medical office setting
- Proficient in using medical coding systems (ICD-10, ICD-9)
- Familiarity with medical billing software/systems
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and diagnoses
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing processes
- Strong analytical skills to review medical records for coding accuracy
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
- Effective communication skills to interact with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients
Additional Details:
- This is a contract-to-hire position with comprehensive training
- DME experience is preferred, but not required.
