New Market, United States Invisible Warriors Full time

The mission of Invisible Warriors is to support women with chronic illnesses, autoimmune disorders and invisible disabilities by creating programs, resources and advocacy channels that get both the word out to the community and helps the individual to create a more thriving life even while dealing with the diseases and/or disabilities that she is struggling with.

Board members also have a unique opportunity to take further action by connecting with other dedicated donors, volunteers and creating a community of giving. Additionally, board members will invest time, professional expertise, talent and engage their personal sphere of influence.

We currently have several open positions:

General Board Member

Looking for general board members with interest or areas of expertise in:

Law

Event planning

Fundraising

BOARD MEMBER RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitor program goals and outcomes

Enhance public awareness of mission and programs

Support the organization financially and fundraise to bring monies in from other areas

BOARD MEMBER EXPECTATIONS

Must be passionate about our mission and programs

Must be willing to invest at least 10 hours a month and professional expertise to grow organization

Must be comfortable fundraising for programs and operational goals

Time Commitment

Commit to two years of service as a board member

Volunteer approximately 10 hours per month to advance board focus area

Attend monthly board meetings (75% attendance required)

Attend annual strategic plan and mid-year strategic plan review (100% attendance required)

Attend premier signature event, Silent No More Benefit Concert (if at all possible)

Participate, or act as board liaison, for at least one committee

Engagement Commitment

Prepare for and actively participate in monthly board meetings

Read and promptly respond to organization emails and Slack messages

Fundraising Commitment

Give a meaningful personal financial donation (at least $100 per year)

Secure sponsorships and leverage connections that can benefit the organizations fundraising goals

Participate in peer to peer fundraising campaigns

Hold at least one peer to peer fundraiser such as an event, online campaign or other solicitation of funding from personal or professional network

Set an annual give/get goal for personal fundraising (recommended amount is $5,000 or more)
