Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Director, perform all duties as described in the master trainer job description. Serve as a mentor to assist in the orientation and training of newly hired staff. In coordination with the assistant director, train/coach both new DSP and house managers in community living services. Will follow Rule 50, Dept. of Human Services Rule 115, Rule 116, Rule 119, Rule 120, and other relevant regulatory guidelines.

Manage all responsibilities based on the agency mission, using individual choice and all appropriate policies, procedures, and regulations. 3. To conduct oneself in a manner that reflects the highest standards of professional courtesy and ethical practices to people served, staff, guardians, families, and all outside contacts.

New Staff Training 1. Provide training to staff assigned to area, including but not limited to; OJT (on the job training) and CBTA (competency based training assessment). 2. Assist DSP staff in understanding their role by spending time coaching, and role modeling with them at assigned sites. 3. Complete CBTA's with new staff to monitor skills and knowledge on the job. 4. Mentor new house managers to help retention. 5. Support and mentor new managers on the job with the assistance of the management team in CLS. Areas of training include but not limited to scheduling, staff supervision, medication checks, grocery shopping, money requests, etc. 6. Mentor new staff/managers and existing staff to assure proper implementation of programs, personal assistance and adherence to relevant policies and procedures. 7. Implement coaching strategies (prompts, role model, support) when

training/retraining

staff assigned responsibility. 8. As needed, make recommendations for staff training and refresher classes. 9. As needed, aid in discipline procedure.

Program /Department Development, and Coordination 1. Implement recommendations in accordance with the Individualized Service Plans. 2. While onsite, train new staff in assigned areas that individuals are participating in all phases of their program, e.g., curriculum activities, job readiness training, work skills, therapy, recreation, training, leisure, and social skills at scheduled times. 3. Assist in developing training materials including task analyses and instructional guides. 4. Maintain assigned area in a safe, clean and orderly condition in an effort to provide an atmosphere conducive to instruction and training.

Documentation and Reporting 1. Mentor new staff and managers on how to document in Therap and QuickMar. 2. Train new staff and managers on all documentation related to the CLS program. 3. Provide input into staff evaluations with the house manager and assistant director. 4. Document as needed while on the on the job in all sites.

Education/Experience

Requirements 1. High school education or equivalent preferred 2. Experience with training and mentoring new employees 3. One year experience with persons with developmental disabilities. 4. The ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. 5. Ability to effectively present information in one-on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Physical Requirements 1. Frequent walking and sitting. 2. Regular reaching, grasping, and standing. 3. Other physical activities related to an office environment. 4. Operates general office equipment, including multi-line phone, fax machine, printer, copier, and personal computer. 5. Ability to lift 50 lbs.
