Description: Electrical PCB Engineer will develop intricate printed circuit board layouts.

This role involves collaborating with engineering teams, creating schematics, circuit board layouts and optimizing designs for manufacturing and testing.

Work with electronic engineers and embedded engineers to create circuit designs and board layouts to meet platform deliverables within product development phases.

Identify the risks, mitigations, and contingency plans for new features.

Work closely with Applied Materials business units, tool owners, and other technical support groups in cross-functional teams.

Problem identification and troubleshooting a wide range of complex electrical problems with limited to no supervision.

Specify the development of design or modify engineering assemblies, layout/schematics and/or detailed drawings/specifications of complex scope.

Interfaces with internal and external customers regarding complex electrical issues for specific projects.

Specify and/or perform engineering ECAD design of complex scope.

Define, coordinate, perform and generate engineering test reports as required.

Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent desired.

Experience with Altium software for PCB/PCBA design with input from mechanical and electrical teams.

Create and modify schematics as directed by engineers.

Generate library symbols, footprints, and 3D drawings for components.

Investigate and implement PCB design trends and processes.

Conduct feasibility studies for packaging, cost, and system performance.

Perform complex CAD and CAE tasks, ensuring compliance with design standards.

Propose design trade-offs for resolution and implementation.

Communicate with fabrication vendors and address engineering questions.

Prioritize quality design and observe design for test and manufacturability principles.

Understand impedance control requirements for electrical and RF circuits.

Stay updated on PCB technology trends and apply them to our designs.

Collaborate with various teams during the design and fabrication process.

Resolve PCB design issues with vendors.

Contribute to PCB design specifications and standards for product quality and cost-efficiency.

Be creative and innovative. Demonstrate a willingness to explore new options to bridge program challenges or improve processes.

A nature of staying focused on solutions and ability to remain positive even under pressure.

Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with others, foster teamwork and bridge differences to achieve the program goals.

Proficiency in Altium, or Mentor PCB Design software.

Familiarity with Mechanical CAD tools (e.g., Siemens NX) is a plus.

Strong knowledge of PCB design best practices and standards (e.g., IPC-A-610).

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Experience in RF Circuit PCB design is preferred.

Experience using Altium PCB Design software.

Expectations from this role:

Develop technical documents such as Functional Design Specifications, Deployment documentation.

Perform design document reviews, peer code reviews and suggest code improvements.

A single point of contact for the build and deployment issues and resolve them on time.

Learn technology, business/system domain and as recommended by the project/account.

Contribute to ERP/CRM Practice related activities like assembling content for case studies, contributing to reusability, coordinating internal seminars and conduct knowledge sharing sessions, organizing sessions during and participating in hackathons, etc.

Select appropriate technical options for development such as reusing, improving or reconfiguration of existing components.

Identify the problem patterns and improve the technical design of the application/system.

Optimize efficiency, cost and quality.

A self-learner, implementing new features released in relevant technology wherever possible.

Act creatively to develop applications and select appropriate technical options, optimize application development, maintenance and performance by employing design patterns and reusing proven solutions. Responsible for others' developmental activities.

Interpret the application/feature/component design to develop the same in accordance with specifications.

Code, debug, test and document and communicates product/component/feature development stages.

Validate results with user representatives, integrates and commissions the overall solution.

Influence and improve customer satisfaction through offering suggestions for code refactoring and improvements in business processes, complete sprint deliverables ahead of time, helping client architects and product owners by way of design suggestions and/or explaining functionality to business stakeholders, etc.

Influence and improve employee engagement within the project teams.

Set goals in NorthStar and timely. measure progress and update accordingly.

Number of applicable technical/domain certifications completed.

Adherence to process and standards (coding standards).

Average time taken for turnaround on production bugs.

Adherence to schedule and timelines.

Contribute to creation of design (HLD, LLD, SAD)/architecture for Applications/feature/Business Components.

Test:


Create and review unit test cases, scenarios and execution.

Review test plan created by testing team.

Provide clarifications to the testing team.


Manage Defects:


Perform defect RCA and mitigation.

Identify defect trends and take proactive measures to improve quality.


Manage Project:


Manage delivery of modules and/or manage user stories.


Documentation:


Create/review templates, checklists, guidelines, standards for design/process/development.

Create/review deliverable documents. Design documentation, test cases and results.


Status Reporting:


Report status of tasks assigned.

Comply with project related reporting standards and process.


Manage knowledge:


Contribute project related documents, share point, libraries, client universities.

Review the reusable documents created by the team.


Release:


Execute and monitor release process.

Interface with Customer:

Clarify requirements and provide guidance to development team.

Present design options to customers.

Implementation reviews with stakeholders.

Work closely with customer architects to finalize design.


Domain relevance:


Advise software developers on design and development of feature / component with deeper understanding of the business problem being addressed for the client.
