Pipe Welder

Venture Dynamics is seeking 1st class Structural welders in Mobile, AL. Working 40hrs a week with optional overtime with shipyard experience.

You must be able to pass mock up test:

Open root 3/8" plate 3G and 4G positions using FCAW process.

Requirements

Must be able to perform the FCAW welds above, on mock up test station.

The individual must have working knowledge of procedures, strong mechanical aptitude and ability and be able to follow directions. The individual must possess experience in the trade; knowledge of ship terminology, blueprint reading, measurements. The individual must demonstrate ability to interpret job specifications and perform steel repairs on marine vessels.

Must be able to understand and follow directions and work with limited supervision. Must be willing to work with and train subordinates.

Must comply with Company safety rules and OSHA standards. Must be physically and medically qualified to wear required personal protective equipment as prescribed under OSHA standards.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Must be able to tour all vessels, piers, docks and work sites.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit.

Must pass drug and background screening

• Knowledge of tig welding procedures and various types of welding equipment
• Knowledge of torch cut, pipe clean, and true weld pipes without leaks in positions with minimum clearance.
• Knowledge of use and limitations of 6011, 6010, and 7018 and/or sil-braze rods
• Knowledge of basic marine piping systems and military specifications
• Familiarity and compliance with NAVSEA Mil. Std. 22-D, tech manuals 248 and 278 in order to maintain quality standards
• Must be able to use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently
• Determine job sites, particularly those involving combustible material, are safe for personnel
• Must be able to read and interpret weld symbols and blue prints, schematics and job specifications
• Must certify to Navy/ABS certification test for the following: 1)pass vision test 2) pipe in the 6GR position, 11018 filter, 70s2 filter, 316 filter, RN67filter and GTAW
• Must have own tools
• Must have own transportation
• Must be US Citizen
• Must pass drug and background screening
