We are looking for:

Assist site HSE Manager to plan, direct, and coordinate activities in the organization to ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulatory standards. Collect data on work environments for analysis. Implement and conduct evaluation of programs designed to limit chemical, physical, biological, and/or ergonomic risks to workers. Review, evaluate, and analyze work environments and assist with maintaining programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent injury or illness. Conduct assigned inspections and enforce adherence to laws and regulations governing the health and safety of individuals as determined by the site HSE Manager.

• Organize, prioritize and accomplish assigned work activities.
• Performs assigned administrative duties within the HSE department.
• Attends required HSE events and meetings assigned by the HSE Manager.
• Demonstrates time management and punctuality.
• Conducts themselves in a professional manner while on site and at all company sponsored Functions.
• Participates in Plant Emergency drills or emergencies.

You will bring:

• Pursuing a college degree specifically in science or engineering
• Lab experience
• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree that is relevant to the internship opportunity.
• Preferred programs include (but not limited to) Occupational Safety and Health & Environmental Management.
• Ability to recognize hazards and speak up confidently to participate in Hazard Correction.
• Ability to identify problems and work to create resolutions.
• Comfortable working around hazardous chemicals and materials.
• Comfortable with heights including but not limited to high-rise structures.
• Able to maintain balance while walking through uneven surfaces.
• Able to arrange temporary housing and transportation to and from work if needed.
• Willingness to learn safety, health, and environmental management.
• Able to proficiently navigate online databases, and confidently utilize web based programs.
• Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.). Google preferred.
• Basic understanding of OSHA regulations.
• Preferred active student involvement with local chapters or related student organizations.

You will get:

• Hourly pay is between 22.00 - 26.00 an hour depending on experience
• Industrial experience
