Position Overview: We are looking for a motivated Registration Representative to serve as the first point of contact for patients seeking emergency medical care. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations. As an essential member of our ER team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient registration and admission process for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet and assist patients and their families in a courteous and compassionate manner upon arrival at the ER.
  • Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information accurately and efficiently.
  • Register patients into the electronic health record (EHR) system and ensure all required documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for emergency medical services.
  • Explain hospital policies and procedures, including financial responsibilities and consent for treatment, to patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to prioritize patient admissions based on acuity and urgency of medical needs.
  • Communicate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare providers to facilitate the admission process.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and filing documents, as needed.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in healthcare registration or customer service role preferred, especially in an emergency room setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and composure under pressure.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Hours: 8am-5pm
