DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Performs diagnostic vascular ultrasound procedures as outlined in policies and procedures of the Cardiovascular Laboratory. May be cross trained into other areas of the department. Assumes responsibility and accountability for patients in the department and provides care to these patients through assessment, observation, and documentation. Performs other related duties incidental to the work described within. Work is primarily independent. Operates ultrasound equipment in the production of diagnostic images in accordance with department protocols. Promotes a safe environment by reporting unsafe conditions and taking appropriate action to prevent accidents. The technologist must be attentive to patient needs during examinations and take appropriate action if necessary. Independent problem solving in the performance of duties with limited supervision. Crossed trained into EKG and some clerical duties as well. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION Must be a graduate of an accredited Sonographer program. One to two years of experience in Sonography, but will accept a new graduate. LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS Certified as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) thru the ARDMS or certified as a Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) thru CCI required.

Must obtain RVT or RVS registry within 1 year from date of hire.

BLS required.
