Job DescriptionGeneral Summary* Under general supervision, performs routine and specialized CT imaging procedures.Principal Tasks/ResponsibilitiesThe following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. They are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job duties performed by personnel so classified.* Executes basic clinical competence in CT, in all locations, across all patient types. Selects accurate technical factors on an individual patient basis and demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to age of the patient. Observes concepts of Image Wisely/Image Gently for dose reduction. Administers contrast according to facility policy.* Applies knowledge of CT principles and practices, including anatomy and physiology, radiation safety and physics, patient positioning and patient care skills. Adheres to Joint Commission, State, Federal, organizational and departmental regulatory compliance standards.* Documents accurate patient care activity in various electronic health records systems.* Ensures a safe and appropriate work environment. Maintains supplies and inventory in area. Informs appropriate colleague when supplies need to be ordered from outside vendors. Documents and reports related equipment/environmental problems in accordance with policy. Follows equipment quality control procedures with appropriate documentation.* Actively participates in departmental and organizational performance improvement initiatives and efforts to improve workflows, patient experience and quality.Company DescriptionThe University of Maryland Medical System is a 14-hospital system with academic, community and specialty medical services reaching every part of Maryland and beyond. No organization will give you the clinical variety, the support, or the opportunities for professional growth that you'll enjoy as a member of our team.QualificationsEducation and Experience* Associate degree, or Certificate, in radiologic technology from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the US Department of Education (USDE) or Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).* 2 years of General CT Radiography experience* Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) in Radiography (R) (CT)Knowledge Skills & Abilities* Highly effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills are required to work with patients, visitors, and other healthcare team members successfully to foster optimal quality of patient care.* Effective listening skills are required in order to follow oral instructions properly.* Ability to follow written instructions is requiredAdditional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
