About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned attorney with 5-7 years of experience in the energy regulatory space, specifically focusing on matters related to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). As Regulatory Counsel, you will play a crucial role in providing legal counsel and strategic guidance on a wide range of regulatory matters impacting our organization's operations and compliance within the energy sector.

Responsibilities: Offer legal counsel and strategic advice on system planning, operation, and regulatory compliance matters pertaining to FERC regulations. Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to develop and implement effective regulatory compliance strategies. Provide support in regional stakeholder processes, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and company objectives. Draft and review tariff rules, filings, and expert testimony for submission to FERC, and effectively address challenges to regulatory initiatives. Advise on and support participation in FERC Technical Conferences, including drafting comments and facilitating compliance initiatives stemming from FERC rulemakings.

Qualifications: Juris Doctor Degree from an accredited law school. Licensed to practice law with 5-7 years of prior experience in federal/state energy regulatory practice, preferably within a law firm, corporation, or governmental agency. Strong understanding of FERC regulations and procedures, with demonstrated expertise in energy industry practices and compliance requirements. Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex legal concepts to diverse stakeholders. Proven track record of collaborative problem-solving and influential leadership within cross-functional teams. Experience in wholesale energy markets and power systems operation is highly desirable.
