Job Overview:

The GIS Analyst will be responsible for the design and implementation of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data, mapping, quality assurance, analysis, and application projects based on enterprise and customer-specified requirements. Work is performed with independence and initiative under the general supervision of a manager.

Job Description:

  • Leads and manages Geographic Information Systems (GIS) projects.
  • Performs advanced-level GIS analysis and mapping.
  • Develops and analyzes business requirements and designs, develops and tests new GIS
  • data, processes, and applications.
  • Analyses, troubleshoots and improves existing GIS data, processes, and applications.
  • Designs and implements quality assurance processes.
  • Provides GIS support services to management and staff.
  • Supports and mentors GIS staff.
  • May represent business units on the GIS Technical Committee.

Experience Requirements:

  • 3 years of advanced-level experience demonstrating the use and application of GIS data and technologies or an equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and experience.
  • Worked with both GIS and commercially available asset management systems.
  • Performed advance level of mapping and GIS analysis.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to sit long periods of time looking at a computer screen, able to lift 15 lbs.

Education Requirements:

  • A Graduate Certificate, Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution may substitute for two years of experience.

Education Preferences:

  • Master's Degree or higher-level degree from an accredited institution.
