Overview Do you have RN Labor and Delivery experience? M Health Fairview is looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) on the Labor and Delivery unit at Woodwind’s Hospital in Woodbury, MN. This position is 0.75 FTE (60 hours per two weeks) on the NIGHT shift, 12 hour shifts, with an every third weekend rotation and a holiday rotation. Join the team honored by its patients as one of the Best Hospitals for Obstetrics in MN The Maternity care Center consists of 24 patient rooms, 8 of these private rooms are on the postpartum unit Patient population: general medical surgical, post-partum No on call Potential to cross train to other specialties on our unit such as labor and delivery and Special Care Nursery RN candidate must be able to train to labor skill upon hire. Responsibilities Job Description Demonstrates commitment to principles of the patient care model (Professional Partnership Model) and achieving the Woodwinds nursing vision and strategy. Utilizes the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to coordinate outcome focused patient care. Throughout this process, also understands and incorporates holistic nursing theory based on Watson's Theory of Caring aligning with the practice standards of the American Holistic Nurses' Association whenever holistic therapy is offered. Communicates effectively with patient/family, physicians, the interdependent team, and other disciplines regarding the plan of care. Assesses and documents learning needs of the patient and family. Develops an individualized education plan for patients and families based on identified needs. Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements at the point of care to achieve clinical quality, customer experience, nursing engagement, and efficiency and effectiveness outcomes. Complies with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, board of nursing requirements, patient safety requirements, infection control practices, and other established practice standards, policies, guidelines, and procedures. Coordinates the interdependent team while promoting collaborative teamwork and cooperation. Actively participates in the development and achievement of department goals (safety, cost, quality, patient experience, employee engagement). Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards. Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements. Performs other responsibilities as needed/assigned. Qualifications Required: Associate’s Degree in Nursing Valid Basic Life Support(BLS) Valid RN Licensure from MN Board of Nursing One year acute care RN experience and/or postpartum NRP within 6 month of hire Twenty hours documented breastfeeding education obtained within 6 month of hire Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Prefer 1 year labor and delivery RN experience Hmong or Spanish language proficiency a plus keywords: Registered Nurse, RN, postpartum, post-partum, post partum, Woodbury, med/surg, medical, surgical EEO Statement EEO/AA Employer/Vet/Disabled: All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to any lawfully protected status
