Join Samaritan Healthcare as a Patient Sitter As a Patient Sitter, you are responsible for helping to ensure a patient is safe when a patient is at risk of harming themselves by pulling lines, falling, wandering, and other behaviors. Patient Sitters are responsible for the continuous monitoring of the patient at the bedside at all times. The individual in this position reports to the Charge Nurse, RN, Department Director, and/or House Supervisor. This position works closely with patients, physicians, and others in order to ensure a calm, comforting environment for our patients.

***Qualifications:***

* High school diploma or GED.

* Successful completion of MOAB (Management of Aggressive Behavior) training for de-escalation techniques prior to job assignment.

* HCP (Healthcare Provider) Level of BLS (Basic Life Support) within three (3) months of hire.

***Competencies include, but are not limited to:***

* Ability to recognize and de-escalate situations using therapeutic language and behavior.

* Ability to communicate using verbal and/or written skills for accurate exchange of information with physicians, nurses, health care professionals, patients and/or family, and the public.

*This is an on-call position with availability to work variable days and shifts.*
