Your Job Purpose:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to join our team to support electrical energizations on a state-of-the-art semiconductor fabrication plant. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful startup of LV Electrical Distribution (480V/120V) systems, including Secondary unit substations, Distribution panel boards, ATS, UPS, Emergency Generators, VFDs and motors.

The Electrical Commissioning Technician will leverage commissioning software to verify equipment readiness, conduct field walks, review documentation, and witness energization. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Your Job Description: Utilize Commissioning Software: Effectively navigate and utilize commissioning software tools to streamline processes and ensure efficient commissioning of electrical systems.
  • System Expertise: Demonstrate expertise in starting up and commissioning electrical switch gear and distribution.
  • Checklist Management: Maintain and review commissioning checklists to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Field Walks: Conduct pre-energization field walks to assess the physical condition of electrical installations, identify potential issues, and ensure readiness for energization.
  • Documentation Review: Review pre- and post-energization documentation to verify adherence to specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Energization Support: Collaborate with the project team and owners to support energization activities, ensuring that electrical systems operate as designed.
  • Non-Conformance Recording: Record instances of non-conformance and punch list items, providing detailed documentation and collaborating with relevant stakeholders to address and resolve issues.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, and technicians, to ensure effective communication and coordination throughout the commissioning process.
  • Job Requirements: Proven experience in the startup and commissioning of LV electrical distribution systems in large scale facilities, with a focus on Secondary Unit Substations, Distribution Panelboards, Automatic Transfer Switches, Uninterruptible Power Supplies, Emergency Generators, Power Monitoring Systems, Variable Frequency Drives and Motor Starters.
  • NEC Code proficiency
  • Experience in electrical testing and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with commissioning software tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and safety.
