Summary: The Machine Builder, reporting directly to the Manufacturing Manager, is directly responsible for layout and assembly of equipment and machines according to set prints or guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Fit and assemble components according to assembly blueprints, manuals, sketches, and experience to construct, rebuild, and repair machines and equipment, uses hand tools and power tools.
  • Verify parts to stock list and blueprints, using measuring instruments, such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
  • Lay out locations for drill and tap holes on parts and assembly.
  • Align components for assembly, manually or with hoist, and bolt and/or screw parts together, using hand tools, rivet gun, or arrange for assembly by welder and electrician.
  • Remove high spots and smooth surfaces, using chisels, scrapers, files, and powered grinders
  • Follow all safety guidelines of the company
  • Other duties as assigned
Education/Skills/Experience

Required:
  • Outstanding, demonstrable mechanical aptitude
  • Proven ability to successfully troubleshoot
  • Ability to pass Mechanical Aptitude test
  • Hose assembly and testing
  • Welding and metal fabrication
  • Valid driver’s license with a record that allows you to be covered by company insurance
Preferred:
  • Basic electrical knowledge
  • Experience working at Customer sites
  • Forklift experience
  • Pump/Hydraulic equipment maintenance or repair experience
  • Associates degree in related field
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift 50-75 lbs.
  • Ability to stand or walk most of the day
  • Ability to twist and turn at least 25% of day
  • Stoop and bend at least 25% of day
  • Ability to reach above shoulders at least 25% of day
  • Repetitive hand and wrist movements at least 50% of the day
  • Forearm rotation at least 25%of the day
