The Enterprise Business Systems Build team is currently looking for a Business Systems Analyst. This position requires expertise in systems analysis, business process definition, process re-engineering and continuous improvement principles.

This individual will work closely with Sales, Logistics and Operations teams to gather system needs and enhancements. The analyst needs to have an enterprise perspective, looking across all lines of business when developing solutions to meet the needs of the organization. The analyst will ensure requests are aligned to business goals, recommend smart approaches to gathering acceptance criteria and deliver features to improve the overall enterprise.

The Business Systems Analyst will identify and assess potential "forward-thinking" solutions for both technical and business feasibility. The successful candidate will have used proven analysis processes to ensure an outcome-based solution is delivered for our organization, which includes proper problem identification, timely escalation and resolution, and thorough testing of software initiatives.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Managing the business request backlog

• Understanding and obtaining business value of the request

• Challenging the requests to ensure alignment to business outcomes and goals

• Communicating the status of the backlog

• Take a leadership role in the backlog grooming ceremonies

Understanding, documenting and optimizing business processes

• Analyze and document the current state & to-be state of business processes

• Think differently about the goal of the process and how to align technology to automate

• Effectively communicate to both IT resources and business resources, including leadership

• Articulate quantitative metrics including ROI and payback to leadership to help understand the outcome

Documenting user stories and acceptance criteria for IT initiatives and maintain existing documentation

• Create agile Epics and Stories with acceptance criteria and represent the requirements on behalf of the business to the IT scrum team

• Perform and/or coordinate data validation, quality assurance (Q/A), user interface (UI) verification activities.

• Participate in Agile ceremonies (Daily Scrum, Scrum Planning, etc.)

• Work with the agile development team to find solutions and evaluate options based on relevant information, resources.

• Work with third party vendors as needed.

General Expectations

• Working both independently and as part of a remote team

• Basic knowledge of IT Helpdesk concepts

• Adhere to defined timelines and deadlines.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in business systems analysis with at least 1-2 years of experience with large scale and complex systems
  • Experience with multi-tiered architectures, including UI design, business rules layer, and basic data architecture
  • Ability to communicate and present technology concepts and solutions to non- technical business people
  • Ability to identify risks throughout the project and providing mitigation strategy
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential
  • Project Management experience on small to moderate complex level projects is desirable
  • Proven track record of business acumen with product development
  • Tools - Demonstrated proficiency in the below will be highly regarded:
    • Powerpoint, Word, Excel, Project, Visio, Teams, JIRA, Confluence
    • ERP, CRM, TMS is a plus
Education/Experience
  • BA/BS computer science, engineering or information services and equivalent technical training
Specialized Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • A strong desire and hunger to learn the business processes and build strong relationships with our business teams with a high level of empathy
  • Possess a strong understanding of a process/product value chain with domain knowledge in Sales, Logistics, Distribution and/or Operations
  • Responsible for delivering business requirements that drives technical solutions
  • Drives analysis with business by documenting current and "future-state" processes
  • Produces written documentation and maintain a document repository
  • Develops business analysis deliverables, including but not limited to workflows and process models, business requirements, use cases, and business rules.
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of agile methodologies as well as change management.
  • Manage the backlog of requests and challenge requests that are not aligned to organizational goals
  • Creates and/or supports the development of work and release plans for large to moderate projects.
  • Develops requirements and testing specifications for moderate to complex system enhancements.
  • Leads specification review with business and technical staff
  • Leads implementation of complex fixes/enhancements.
  • Drives analysis needs to resolve day-to-day production issues in partnership with support organization
  • Uses business and technical architectural principles to define project objectives, processes, roles and responsibilities, and methodology
WORKING CONDITIONS:

Working Hours/Environment
  • Expectations include a traditional 40+ hour full-time work week, requiring physical office presence. Alignment with standard company business hours (8:30am - 5:30pm).
  • Although infrequent, off-hours support will be required periodically where circumstances dictate outside of normal business hours
Tools and Equipment Used
  • Personal computer, copier, phone, and other typical office equipment
Travel
  • Not to exceed 15%; Domestic-travel only within the U.S.
Physical & Mental Demands
  • Ability to work at a computer terminal for extended periods of time
  • Digital dexterity and hand/eye coordination in operation of office equipment
  • Ability to speak to and hear employees/clients via phone or in person (Candidate must speak English as a primary language)
