Job Description

Essential Job Duties:
  1. Team Work: Required to work with others on projects; repairs, installations, new construction as well as remodeling projects. Must demonstrate team work, cooperation, respect, and leadership. Must be able to work around patients, visitors, medical staff, and co-workers
  2. Maintains Safe Environment: Must follow all a Hospital safety policies & procedures with reference to patients, employees, and visitors - electrical safety, lockout/tagout, arch flash, as well as infection control polices & procedures.
  3. Thorough Documentation: reading, maintaining, updating - includes work requests, system schematics, building blueprints, equipment drawings, new installation layouts, MSDS items, etc.
  4. Work tasks: includes installations, construction projects, preventative maintenance & corrective maintenance of a wide variety of hospital equipment and systems - both electrical and some non-electrical.
  5. Competency: Employee is required to maintain competency by reading related publications such as NEC, attending inservices & training schools as required, etc.
  6. Efficient time management: Employee is expected to maintain self discipline to start work on time, stay within the allotted time for allowed breaks, meal times, and work schedules. Periodically, employee may have to work abnormal work hours - weekends, nights, call-backs.
  7. Cost containment: Employee is expected to follow best practices, evaluate cost effective methods of installations, preventative & corrective maintenance with reference to materials & supplies usage and inventory.
  8. Technology: Employee is expected to use the provide technology as provided by GSH - PC's, test equipment, PPE, on-line applications, wireless devices, etc, to communicate, document, and to help perform work tasks in an efficient & appropriate manner.
Secondary Job Duties That May be Reassigned:
  1. Performs other jobs as assigned.


Qualifications

Job Specifications:
  • Education: High School Graduate, electrician apprenticeship program or electrical trade school.
  • Experience: 2-3 years prefered as licensed electrician.
