The Role: As a Taxonomy Strategist, you'll play a crucial role in shaping the future of LinkUp's job market data infrastructure. You'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and governing taxonomies for occupational and skill categories, ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and scalability of our data. Responsibilities: Develop and implement robust taxonomies for categorizing job market data, including job titles, skills, and required qualifications. Analyze LinkUp's vast dataset to identify inconsistencies and opportunities for standardization within occupational and skill classifications. Collaborate with industry experts and internal stakeholders to define and refine job market taxonomies. Maintain and govern taxonomies to ensure their effectiveness and alignment with evolving industry trends. Stay up-to-date on best practices for job market data classification and taxonomy development. Partner with data science teams to explore potential applications of taxonomies for data analysis and insights generation. Create clear documentation and training materials to promote widespread adoption of new taxonomies by LinkUp's internal and external users. Continuously evaluate and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of existing taxonomies. Ideal Candidate: Proven experience designing and implementing complex taxonomies, particularly for occupational and skill data. Strong understanding of job market trends and data analysis methodologies. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across various departments. Experience working in a data-driven environment with large datasets. Familiarity with data governance principles and best practices. Experience with data modeling and schema design (a plus). Bonus Points: Experience with machine learning or AI applications for data analysis. Understanding of data privacy regulations and legal compliance. Experience working with multilingual taxonomies.
