Organization: VEC AVA Job Summary: Will be responsible for utilizing various data loss prevention (DLP) solutions to prevent the transmission, or disclosure of sensitive data. The analyst will play a crucial role in identifying and consulting on mitigating data security risks, assisting in the response of breaches, and promoting a culture of data protection across the organization. . KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Collaborate with stakeholders to define data protection policies, standards, and procedures. Configure, manage, and utilize DLP technologies to monitor and enforce data security policies. Conduct regular assessments and audits of data security controls to identify gaps and vulnerabilities. Investigate security incidents related to data loss or unauthorized data access and develop remediation plans. Analyze data flows and usage patterns to identify potential data security risks and recommend preventive measures. Develop and deliver training programs to raise awareness of data protection best practices among employees. Stay current on emerging trends in data security and incorporate best practices into DLP strategies. Prepare and present reports on data security incidents and trends to management. TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES Utilize and configure DLP technologies (Novice) – Will be expected to utilize current DLP technologies to be able to monitor and identify potential DLP issues. Will be expected to be able to customize current technologies to find potential issues in non-standard formats. Escalation/Troubleshooting (Novice) – Will be expected to be a technical resource for any issues that may arise from managing DLP products. They will be expected to report the issue to the necessary parties and follow through until the issue is resolved. Consultation (Novice) – Will provide consulting services to VUMC support personnel as designated by VEC SOS leadership. They will operate in both a per directive and per request basis through approved methods. These include, but not limited to approved short-term and long-term initiatives. Project Resource (Novice) – Will assist in cybersecurity centric projects for the institution. They will be expected to be assigned to multiple initiatives at the same time. They will be expected to operate in both an independent and team environment executing proper time and resource management skills. Regular reporting cadence with their director is expected.
