Kapi'olani Medical Specialists (KMS) is a specialty physician group dedicated to caring for Hawai'i's women and children through excellence in academics, physician training, medical research and clinical care. The group is comprised of over 100 Specialists, Nurse Practitioners and other staff, covering newborn to women's health services at Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children. KMS operates exclusively for charitable, scientific and educational purposes, offering highly specialized care options at Kapi'olani and building support for these services within Hawai'i as a whole. The group's specialty areas include: Neurology, Orthopedics,Genetics, Adolescent Medicine, Otolaryngology, Behavioral Health Services, Hematology/Oncology, Neonatology, Pediatric Intensive Care, Family Medicine and the full spectrum of Pediatric Specialties. Its Women's specialists include Breast and General Surgery, Adult Hospitalists and GYN Oncology.
The Kapi'olani Children's Specialty Center offers comprehensive medical care for children and young adults on O'ahu, Maui, Moloka'i and the Big Island of Hawai'i with complex medical problems ranging from developmental and behavioral difficulties to neurological disorders. The Center was developed to meet the needs of young people and to assist families in caring for them. The Center is staffed by a highly specialized team of medical professionals, each experienced in pediatrics and working with families, and in using evidence-based practice in multidisciplinary health care.
If you are compassionate and have outstanding interpersonal skills, you could be our next Genetic Counselor. In this role, you will provide valuable knowledge and guidance to patients with genetic conditions and medical questions, employing your professional knowledge of genetic counseling to assist in the evaluation, treatment and management of patients requiring genetic evaluation. You may also educate and counsel individuals, couples, families or groups regarding genetic conditions, as well as providing educational and consultative services to other health care professionals. Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in Genetic Counseling and/or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Candidate must obtain Certified Genetic Counselor (CGC) certification by the American Board of Genetic Counseling within two (2) testing cycles.
Preferred Experience: One (1) year of genetic counseling experience.

Rate of pay for selected candidates will be determined by various factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, relevant experience and training, as well as internal peer equity.
