Senior Trademark Attorney

*This role will require one day a week in office every other week*. Additional timing in office when needed.
The Opportunity:
You will be the primary legal counselor to the Global Marketing and Global Commercial functions for the Global Seqirus Trademark portfolio. You will develop legal strategy to support business objectives concerning trademarks, internet domains and intellectual property transactions. You will Independently advise relevant global responsibilities on filing, maintenance and trademark related disputes. You will advise relevant global CSL functions on copyright matters.
The Role:
Manages, supports and maintains the CSL Seqirus Global Trademarks portfolio.
Provides critical strategic advice to the Global Marketing and Global Commercial
Functions on the filing and maintenance of trademarks and development of new product names.
Makes independent recommendations related to the appropriate use and development of trademarks.
Provides strategic advice on copyright matters to CSL Group Global Marketing, Commercial and R&D Functions.
Advises CSL Head of Trademarks and provides counsel and advice to business clients and manages external administrative disputes, litigation and Trademark Office Actions.
Supports the Global Business Development & Licensing function with respect to the Intellectual Property aspects of due diligence and transactional agreements.
Your skills and experience:
Juris Doctor (J.D.)
Minimum 8-10 years experience in a similar legal role, law firm or in-house position
Preferred prior experience with a Pharmaceutical company.
Extensive experience developing, filing, maintaining and defending trademarks globally.
Experience counseling clients on complex trademark matters and intellectual property transactions.
Delivers high quality legal advice and work product. Knowledge of trademark laws and other intellectual property laws and transactional agreements.
Advanced contract drafting and negotiation skills.
Extensive knowledge and experience with trademark dispute management.
