Title: Quality Assurance Engineer
Reports To: Sr. Director Quality Assurance and Warranty
Location: Washington, Missouri
FLSA Status: Exempt

Job Summary: Facilitate communication to the various brand and product Business Units regarding product/packaging conformance and performance criteria of finished goods receipts from the various overseas supplier. Maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) for warehouse/manufacturing equipment, personnel, methods, processes, and procedures as to meet internal and regulatory standards. Perform Quality Engineering tasks for the various manufacturing operations within the warehouse facility.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Communicate and document detailed reports on internal production metrics, and finished goods’ non-conformances on weekly, monthly, and yearly basis.
  • Investigate and perform root cause analysis on production and customer issues.
  • Understand and apply statistical process analysis and control (SPC) on critical to quality parameters.
  • Complete and/or oversee product, process, and testing audits in manufacturing production operations at the Washington facility.
  • Lead Corrective Action/Preventive Action (CAPA) documentation to resolve internal production issues.
  • Participate and lead continuous improvement activities at the warehouse.
  • Work with the Product Quality Leads and the Quality Product Auditing team regarding container/product arrivals of sourced finished goods at the warehouse.
  • Properly organize and maintain various documents, including but not limited to the Summary file for Non-Conformance Reports, Inspection Rework Claim Forms, etc.
  • Perform and maintain production measurement systems analysis (MSA) on critical to quality measurements such as gauge R&R and calibration records.
  • Assist in scheduling the auditing process done by Quality Auditors and Inspectors. This includes auditing process establishment/improvements for current and future RFID requirements by some retail customers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Education Required:
  • BS in Engineering Management (QE emphasis preferred), Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Working knowledge of process improvement skills including Six Sigma and Lean Sigma.
  • Knowledge of hands-on product and process testing is an advantage.
  • Ability to complete and manage detailed measuring; ability to maintain the quality of work under stressful situation.
  • Knowledge of common manufacturing techniques.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and process control analysis.
  • Computer skills – Microsoft Excel, Word, ChartRunner, Minitab or any other data acquisition software. Knowledge of JDE/E1 or other ERP system is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills, good verbal, and written communications skills.
  • Ability to work in a demanding, dynamic environment where precision, quality and confidentiality is top priority.


Working Conditions: Manufacturing and warehouse working environment, lab environment, and/or office environment.

Safety Hazards: Potential work hazards exist due to work environment.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Occasional travel to another Rawlings’ facility or supplier may be required.
