Do you love seeing smiles on the faces of happy and satisfied residents? We are seeking a Dietary Manager to lead our culinary services to provide excellent quality of food to our residents. The Dietary Manager will be directing and assisting the preparation and serving of quality meals and therapeutic diets in a safe manner while also providing documentation in the clinical record of the residents' nutritional status.

Responsibilities and Purpose

  • Responsible for food purchase, production and timely service of meals.
  • Maintain sanitary kitchen environment at all times and ensure food safety standards are met.
  • Maintain the standardized recipes in which the recipes are adjusted to the size of the facility.
  • Check trays for accuracy, garnishments and overall appearance before they are delivered.
  • Observe the food intake of residents. Communicate information to the Dietary Consultant and/or Director of Nursing.
  • Visit residents to do initial nutrition screening explain diet, record food preferences and promote a quality food service.
Desired Experience and Education
  • Certification by the Association of Nutrition and Foodservice Professionals (ANFP) preferred.
  • If not certified, the employee must obtain a ServSafe certification within 3 months of hire and certification by the ANFP within 1 year of employment, paid for by the facility via contract with employee.
  • A Diet Technician, Registered (DTR) will also qualify for placement as a Dietary Manager with the job title of Diet Technician.
  • One (1) or more years experience in a skilled nursing environment strongly preferred.
