POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Electrician II will work with the Maintenance Shift Team to maintain thorough understanding of plant safety policies and procedures and perform all work according to policies and procedures. You will be focused on maintaining high standards of quality and workmanship in performing all duties by understanding the plant environmental policies/ procedures and how they relate to the performance of daily duties. This position reports to the Team Lead and will be a part of the Maintenance Team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Driving every issue to a root cause failure or root cause of malfunction
  • Using an electrical multimeter, megger, amprobe, and other similar instruments in proper situations combined with in-depth mechanical knowledge to achieve root-cause failures
  • Diagnosing and repairing malfunctions of CNC, PLC machine controls, motor controls, AC/DC drive controls, oven temperature controls, gas burner controls, induction furnace controls, and other common industrial control and instrumentation devices
  • Installing and starting of new manufacturing or support equipment including preparation of foundations, assembly of equipment per manufacturer's drawings, leveling and alignment of equipment or components using appropriate tools and instruments, and startup and adjustment of equipment
  • Changing parts only when necessary, using skill and craftsmanship to make timely and robust repairs with more readily available materials
  • Diagnosing and repairing electrical malfunctions on plant and manufacturing equipment including finding and replacing blown fuses, repairing damaged wiring, and replacing defective components
  • An ability to bench repair/rebuild electrical equipment components using common materials including metals, plastics, etc. and common methods including welding, bolting, etc
  • Designing, Laying out, fitting, and installing of conduit, cable trays and other common industrial wiring systems
  • Performing preventive maintenance on and inspection of plant and manufacturing equipment per documented procedures and methods.
  • Assisting with developing preventive maintenance schedules and procedures for equipment using OEM equipment manuals and component manuals
  • Diagnosing and repairing malfunctions of building electrical and lighting systems and performing preventive maintenance per documented procedures and methods
  • Diagnosing and repairing malfunctions to perform routine maintenance on forklifts and other mobile equipment
  • Planning material requirements, layout, and fabricating tools, components or other assemblies per drawings or functional requirements
  • Bench repairing and/or rebuilding of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment components
  • Laying out, fitting and installation of screwed or welded piping components and systems
  • Be able to functionally understand the ability to diagnose and repair common malfunctions of CNC machine controls
  • Other duties as assigned by Maintenance Shift Team Leaders.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 2-year technical degree in industrial maintenance and 4 years of industrial maintenance experience
  • Entry-level operation of machine tool job shop equipment, including mills, lathes, surface grinders, etc
  • Ability to measure to .0005".
  • Experienced with diagnosing and repairing electrical aspects of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment malfunctions of all plant and manufacturing equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to be proactive in identify and implementing improvements in materials, methods, processes, etc. which contribute to profitability
