Job Summary:

We are seeking a Per Diem II RN for our ICU department. As a Registered Nurse, you will provide direct nursing care to assigned patients. You will work independently of patient location and serve as a role model in promoting a positive work environment and quality patient care. This position requires adherence to hospital and departmental policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Enhance professional growth and development through education, workshops, and in-services
  • Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families
  • ID and report/correct environmental conditions and/or situations that may put a patient at undue risk
  • Implement and document individualized care plans incorporating age-specific considerations, discharge planning, and patient/family teaching
  • Administer medication, including IV medication, via the Seven Rights and document and communicate clinical findings
  • Assist with special tests and procedures, ensuring proper consent has been obtained
  • Deliver safe direct care to assigned patients
  • Ensure that patient medical records contain necessary information
  • Report potential or actual patient safety concerns, medical errors and/or near misses in a timely manner
  • Encourage patients to actively participate in their own care
  • Adhere to and promote the core expectations of the Patient Centered Medical Home or Patient Centered Specialty Practice as applicable

Qualifications:

  • Program Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing graduate
  • 1 year of directly related experience
  • Basic Arrhythmia Certification within 1 year
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification within 6 months
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within 6 months of hire
  • RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers within 30 days

Physical Requirements:

  • Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people

Working Conditions:

  • Significant hazard: Chemicals, Bio Hazardous Materials requiring PPE
