JOB SUMMARY The Speech-Language Pathologist Clinical Fellow (CF) carries out the speech and language instruction within a student's individualized educational program for Aspire Public Schools. The Speech and Language pathologist CF instructs students with Individualized Education Plans in an inclusive environment. S/he works closely with school sites, Special Education staff, and Aspire staff on a regular basis and may work with outside consultants and district personnel as needed. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Provide direct, individual and/or small group instruction to identified students on a regularly scheduled basis as required in the IEPRegularly collaborates with team members, parents and related service providers for the purposes of: reviewing student data, ensuring IEP implementation, co-planning and/or co-teachingParticipate in developing, implementing, and monitoring Individual Educational Plans for students who qualify for Related Services pursuant to California educational codes.Create and maintain, records, files, and reports as required by federal, state, and SELPA regulationsMaintain knowledge of current regulations pertaining to special education and meet the minimum IDEA requirements related to case managementMaintain a high level of rigor for students with disabilities in order to ensure equitable access to common core and/or alternate curriculum standards by developing instructional materials and strategies for Special Education students in the general education setting.Demonstrate knowledge of, and support, Aspire Public Schools mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behaviorAdditional: Demonstrate knowledge of, and support, the Aspire Public Schools mission, vision, value statements including antiracism, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behaviorPerform other related duties as required and assignedQUALIFICATIONS Competencies:Strong communication and community-building skillsProficiency with MS Office and Google DriveBilingual/Bi-literate-English/Spanish preferredOutstanding training and presentation abilitiesExperience in performance assessmentStrong problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional levelKnowledge of speech and language assessment, planning, instruction, and evaluationKnowledge of child cognitive development and different learning stylesAbility and willingness to implement students' IEPsBelief in inclusion and Aspire's Equity Belief Statements and demonstrates high expectations for students with diverse learning needsAbility and willingness to reflect and improveFlexibility and ability to adapt to changing conditions; ability and good judgment to take initiative to modify activitiesStrong written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate with general education and special education colleagues, parents and communityAbility to excel as a member of a team and implement new learnings from professional developmentAbility to work with an ethnically and economically diverse student bodyAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment; flexible, able to work autonomously as well as take direction as neededMinimum educational level:Master's DegreeCertifications or Credentials NeededValid California Intern Speech-Language Pathology School Services credential or California Intern Clinical or Rehabilitative Services credential with an authorization in Language, Speech and HearingExperience required:Completion of school/medical based internshipPhysical requirements:Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.Communicating with others to exchange information.Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.Work authorization requirements:Clear the Department of Justice background screeningAuthorized to work in the United StatesProvide health (TB) clearanceWORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics are representative of those in a normal office, classroom/school setting which one might encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. COMPENSATION Aspire offers its employees a competitive salary and benefits, including paid time off, 100% core health benefits coverage, life insurance/long-term disability, participation in a CA state retirement plan, tuition reimbursement plan, and adoption assistance program. Salary $91,142 *Bonuses are offered until December 13, 2024 and are paid out in two installments of $3,000.
