SUMMARY:

The Technical Support Specialist is a technical role in the CMI Customer Service Department which is primarily responsible for providing technical support & troubleshooting over the phone, parts research & pricing support, technical training, occasional on-site technical support as needed, and day-to-day technical service expertise to CMI customers and the Field Service team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides phone and online technical support to CMI customers and Field Service Technicians answering questions about machine assembly, troubleshooting and
  • Respond to questions about part numbers, identifying correct parts and
  • Determine pricing and availability of service parts, processing quotations and orders as required.
  • Interpret schematics/blueprints to troubleshoot.
  • Locate prints for manufacture of obsolete.
  • Research customer requirements and determine appropriate.
  • Perform on-site (field) repair work as required, troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic.
  • Supports development of knowledge base system for use internally / externally to aid in the diagnosis of machine issues.
  • Help develop Service Department Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
  • Participates in the development and implementation of Service Department processes. (Traction/Bloom)
  • Demonstrate the Company Core Values daily.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude including strong electrical and hydraulic system.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, service and operate saws a plus.
  • Basic machining skills including sawing, drilling, and milling.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical (24vdc – 480vac) and hydraulic circuitry.
  • Experience with PLC’s, VFD’s, HMI’s and Servo’s a plus.
  • Ability to read and understand schematics and diagrams.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
  • Goal driven to complete projects and ongoing activities.
  • Team player & strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be familiar with MS suite.
  • Must be able to type.
