R&D Chemist - Northlake, IL

Shift: 8AM - 4PM (Monday -Friday)
Pay:$20- $25/hour

As an R&D Chemist, you will play a pivotal role in the development and optimization of new products, processes, and formulations. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers, you will contribute to the advancement of our research objectives and the achievement of our company's goals.

Job Duties:
* Develop, troubleshoot, and scale-up chemical batches/formulations of new and existing inks, coatings, and polymers
* Performed lab-scale experiments to troubleshoot production issues and introduce new products to the plant
* Monitored production, including process yields, quality, and cycle time
* Quality control testing, analysis, and synthesis of coatings
* Oversee Process Improvement for Quality Control standards
* Maintain detailed records of experimental procedures, results, and observations. Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate findings effectively to internal stakeholders
* Perform comprehensive analytical testing using techniques such as HPLC, GC-MS, FTIR, NMR, and DSC to assess the physical and chemical properties of materials and formulations.
* Perform Laboratory method development, instrumentation maintenance and calibration, and Conduct quality and safety audits monthly in order to ensure Good Lab Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) within the lab and on production floor
* Actively support quality investigations, problem solving
* Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager

Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Associates Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or similar discipline with 3 years of relevant experience, with concentration in the following areas:
* Experience performing Liquid Chromatography (LC), Mass Spectrometry (MS), Gas Chromatography (GC), High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) highly preferred
* Pilot scale laboratory experience preferred
* Experience with LIMS software, statistical analysis software and experimental design methodologies
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively collaborate within a multidisciplinary team environment
* Ability to learn and understand procedures for technical and analytical testing
