Job Description summary

Responsible for providing wage selections prior to race and serves as host, acting as the public face and voice of Tioga Downs Racing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Provide excellent guest service to both internal and external guests.

+ Actively supports the company culture of creating a fun and entertaining experience for internal and external guests.

+ Must be available to work live racing days throughout the entire racing season.

+ Responsible for providing public wagering information and race selections prior to each live horse race.

+ Must have the ability to speak clearly and provide accurate knowledgeable race information during live race days.

+ Responsible for hosting contests/games with track patrons between live races.

+ Responsible for finding contestants to participate in contests/games during the race program.

+ Works in conjunction with the promotions team and track announcer.

+ Serves as backup race caller, calling races and giving accurate knowledgeable race information during the races.

+ All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or GED required.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of horse racing and some background television entertainment and public speaking required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Must be able to read a program and announce clearly so that patrons can understand what the announcer is announcing.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply commonsense reasoning to a variety of situations.
