Job Summary The anesthesia technician is responsible for a variety of duties and responsibilities that are vital to the efficient function of the anesthesia department. These responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Cleaning and restocking standardized anesthesia carts for use in the operating rooms.Responsible for cleaning and restocking the non-pharmacological sections of the difficult airway cart, the emergency crash carts and the malignant hyperthermia cart and other associated pediatric anesthesia equipment.The setup and turnover of age-specific anesthesia-related supplies and equipment between surgery cases. Appropriate cleaning and/or sterilization of reusable equipment. Restocking of drug trays in the workroom cabinet. Closing down the anesthesia related equipment in the operating rooms at the end of the daily case load.Preparation of intravenous fluids with appropriate administration setup.Preparation of equipment for transporting patients with invasive and non-invasive monitoring.Maintain knowledge of all anesthesia related supplies and equipment and their location.The entering of anesthesia patient charges into the current computer system for patient billing purposes.Ongoing knowledge of the current par levels of equipment and supplies within the department.Ordering and restocking of equipment and supplies into the department.General knowledge of the costs of supplies and equipment to assist the director with the budgeting process.Education High School diploma or equivalent.Experience 1 year experience in health care environment.Basic computer skillsPrefer understanding of cleaning methods utilized in health care environmentLicensures, Certifications, and/or Registries
