Overview:

Partners with the Associate General Counsel Global Litigation & Employment to provide legal advice and counsel specifically in the employment law area, as well as managing litigation and threats of litigation. Serve as primary legal advisor for assigned Field HR team on employee relations matters. Works directly with business partners, operates independently on matters within his/her purview, and executes against goals and objectives set by the AGC and/or Wendys, with a primary focus on minimizing or eliminating legal and economic risks.

Responsibilities:

Serves as general legal support person in the Legal department for assigned matters relating to labor and employment for Wendys for both U.S. and International operations. This includes, but is not limited to, providing advice and counsel to HR and other business partners on employee relations matters, researching employment legal issues and preparing written summaries and advice related to same, drafting and editing policies and procedures, providing expertise and advice on people-related projects, and drafting, reviewing, and negotiating HR-related contracts and agreements.

Manage and advise on employment disputes and litigation, including EEOC and other agency investigations and claims and actual or threatened employment litigation matters as assigned. Manage and advise on other litigation and disputes as assigned.

Supervise paralegal work product and work independently with paralegals and support staff to execute projects and processes.

Supporting AGC or General Counsel on an as requested basis on special projects.

Develop, advise and execute legal strategy for disputes and litigation matters when serving as lead attorney.

Develop, advise and execute legal strategy for disputes and litigation matters where AGC or other counsel is lead attorney.

Authority to provide independent legal and business advice to business partners on employment law matters within discretion

Authority to make independent decisions relating to document negotiations so long as within company guidelines and reflects the relevant internal approvals

Minimum Wage:
USD $114,000.00/Yr.

Maximum Wage:
USD $200,000.00/Yr.

Qualifications:

Education: Masters Degree

Additional education information (major, etc.): J.D.

Law firm and/or in-house attorney experience: 3-5 years

Flexible attorney with focused experienced in employment and litigation and excellent soft skills, Including a demonstrated a willingness to learn, enthusiasm for being a part of the Companys in-house legal department, and a hard-working and ethical legal partner with a customer service mindset

This position is located in Dublin, Ohio but is hybrid and will involve some onsite work.
