Job Purpose

Provide high-quality, learner-centered lab and classroom support for students enrolled in the Construction Technology program.

Position Description

Collaborate with program instructors on daily lab activities, ensure labs are set up per faculty guidance and students follow appropriate clean-up protocol daily.

Provide technical guidance in the performance of program specific tasks.

Observe and document student performance of tasks assigned by the program instructors.

Supervise students in classroom, lab setting, and off-site activities.

Ensure safety practices are followed by students.

Follow required pollution prevention procedures in the handling of chemicals and waste products.

Maintain records of the orders for proper accountability of materials.

Maintain control of college owned specialty tools, equipment, and resources for use by students.

Ensure all program tools, equipment, resources, and other materials are in good working order following program maintenance processes.

Maintain program inventory or all necessary resources, reporting to program personnel on any repairs, replacements, upgrades, or purchase of additional resources.

Ensure prompt ordering of items in collaboration with faculty.

Enforce all rules and regulations, per the colleges guidelines and other enforcement agencies that govern student practices of KCKCC.

Must assist with organizing all aspects of Construction Technology projects, including good stakeholder.

Give demonstrations on floor, wall and ceiling framing, roof framing, layout stairs, and installation of various building materials, plumbing, electrical, tool usage, construction math, etc.

Transportation of students during field trips, customer jobs, and other activities per the colleges policies and guidelines.

Participate in regular professional development.

Other duties as assigned.

Ability to train and work with diverse students and

learners.

Strong computer and technology

skills.

Able to work professionally and collaboratively with industry

partners.

Knowledge of the latest industry technology and ability to integrate the technology into the

program.

Ability to use tools of the trade safely and demonstrate safety practices to

students.

Able to communicate the necessity of being on time to class, even if this becomes a daily

task.

Position Qualifications and/or Education

Minimum Qualifications and/or Education

High school diploma and/or GED

equivalent.

Minimum of three (3) years of work experience in construction or a closely related

field.

Industry credentials in NCCER, OSHA10/30, or other applicable

certifications. .

Preferred Qualifications and/or Education

Associate degree or higher in construction technology or a closely related traded

field.

Four (4) years of experience in construction technology or a closely related

field.

Training

experience.

Computer skills such as: AutoCAD, blueprint reading and creation, Microsoft Office

Suite.

Work Schedule

40 hours per week, during regular hours of Monday Friday 8:00 am 4:30

pm. Must be able to work a variable schedule/hour to meet operational needs. May require evening and weekend

hours.
