Accounting Clerk

The Blade has an opening in the Finance Department for a part-time Accounting Clerk.

The Accounting Clerk will assist as needed in the cashier and circulation accounting areas of the department. Research and reconciliation of accounting discrepancies for both internal and external customers. Prepare audit samples and requests. Review and process check requests, garnishments, and various adjustments. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance.

Successful candidates should have 1-2 years of accounting experience including some in general ledger and cashier. Two- or four-year degree in accounting, or equivalent comparable experience, is required. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word required. Experience in accounts payable and credit and collection is a plus. Must be a team player, have outstanding judgment, professionalism and discretion and work well under pressure to meet required deadlines. Excellent ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing as well as flexible and able to adjust to constantly changing demands and priorities. Must be detail oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
