Vaco is hiring for a Intermodal Dispatcher location in Jacksonville; FL

Primary responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
  • Dispatch truck drivers for pick-ups at customer locations; local ports; and railroads
  • Confirm proper bookings and billings to meet customer requirements
  • Enter data in the computer for planning and general information
  • Provide necessary communications to the terminal regarding specific customer requests
  • Be willing to work extended hours to meet and exceed customer needs
Skills:
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and Safety Compliance
  • Thrives off working in a high paced environment
  • Ability to prioritize/multitask
  • Computer Savvy
  • Knowledge of BOLs; ports; intermodal; per-diem and various other transportation knowledge
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience in the trucking &/or intermodal transportation industry
    Understanding of steamships
  • Ability to read and comprehend all instructions including operating rules; bulletins; regulatory documents and other written communications
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills
