Phlebotomist, Full-Time

Cuyahoga Falls, United States Western Reserve Full time

Performs procedures involving blood collection, central receiving/specimen handling, and limited technical functions to assist the technologist in performing laboratory analysis.

Duties Include:

  • Some outpatient drawing
  • Registration - will work with insurance
  • Accessioning - receiving specimens from offsites, unbagging, logging them into the computer
  • Communicating with couriers to ensure all specimens have arrived from offsites
  • Ordering specimens - both the outpatients that come in and some of the surgical specimens
  • Faxing reports to physicians
  • Answering phones
Hours: 40 hours per week - 1:30 PM - 10:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Location: Western Reserve Hospital/May float to off-site locations

Education and Training
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Certificate in Phlebotomy or as a Medical Assistant preferred.
  • Six months previous phlebotomy experience AND/OR completion of a Medical Assistant Program OR a Phlebotomy Program.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire and/or transfer.
Experience

Six months previous phlebotomy experience preferred.
