About the Team

The UI Platform at Snowflake accelerates the productivity of Snowflake’s UI engineers by providing the core libraries and building blocks to build intuitive, performant, secure and consistent product experiences.  We take care of the UI infrastructure so our customers can focus on building great user experiences and ship fearlessly.  We enable a one-product vision by providing the tools for consistency and cohesiveness across all UI surfaces. 

What you’ll do

We are looking for an experienced engineering leader to shape the vision and craft the strategy for the UI Platform engineering team.  You will partner closely with product management and design to deliver a UI platform that accelerates product innovation and allows our product teams to scale more effectively.  

UI Platform is responsible for a number of areas including our UI component library, design system, testing frameworks, frontend observability and horizontal experiences.  You will set the standard for craftsmanship and lead the team in delivering performant and intuitive experiences for our customers. 

As a leader you will foster the development of the team by providing coaching, support and creating clarity for the organization.  You will grow your team by owning recruiting and staffing to meet the needs of the business. You’ll develop a collaborative team that sets big goals and consistently achieves them. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop the long term vision and strategy for the UI Platform engineering team. 
  • In partnership with Product Management and Design, prioritize and deliver on an execution roadmap that delivers value for your customers and enables the organization to scale. 
  • Attract amazing talent in partnership with Snowflake recruiting
  • Help engineers grow and advance in their career
  • Contribute to Snowflake-wide engineering initiatives

Who you are

  • 5+ years of engineering management experience
  • A strong track record of recruiting, leading and growing technical teams 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, ambiguous environment
  • Extensive experience in building large scale web applications
  • Successful track record of delivering culture and tools changes, based on developer empathy and productivity goals 
  • A proven ability to work cross-functionally to influence and align partner teams towards a common goal and vision. 
  • A reputation for delivering quality, great product instincts and relentless drive for delivering great user experiences
