Our client, a leading technology provider headquartered in Long Island, seeks an attorney to join their team. This is a newly created role designed for a seasoned professional with several years' experience managing closings without (or with limited) supervision. The successful candidate will report directly to the GC and enjoy regular interaction with key internal stakeholders. Our client prides itself on an excellent culture; this is not a \"face time for the sake of face time\" shop. This position is hybrid, with two days/week in office required (and occasionally more when projects call for it).

  • Projected base annual salary for this role is $145K - $175K depending on experience.
Responsibilities:
  • Negotiating and drafting commercial contracts and agreements as well as issue spotting when analyzing counterparties' draft agreement terms
  • Drafting of non-disclosure agreements
  • Managing due diligence, analyzing and summarizing legal documents
  • Supporting and advising internal stakeholders with varying degrees of legal and contractual knowledge (including Human Resources, Business Development, and proposal writers)
  • Conducting legal research and evaluating risk factors to support operational and business decisions
  • Counseling on matters of employment, labor, and HR policy
  • Occasional liaising with outside counsel on matters involving immigration and/or employment law for the company's international offices and overseas consultants
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
  • Juris doctor
  • Admitted and in good standing to the New York bar
  • At least three years' experience negotiating, drafting, and reviewing commercial contracts at a top law firm and/or an in-house legal department, (recent in-house experience strongly preferred)
  • Familiarity with NDAs
  • Deep working knowledge of contract law
  • Familiarity with employment law and immigration law strongly preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products
