Surgical Notes is hiring for a Multispecialty Medical Coding Specialist II to provide accurate and timely coding for our ambulatory surgical clients. The ideal candidate has excellent organizational skills, communication skills, with the desire and ability to learn quickly. We are looking for candidate who will actively exhibit these core values: Service Excellence, Transparency, Teamwork, Accountability, Hardwork, and Positive Attitude.External Title: ASC Medical Coding Specialist II Internal Title: US Coding Individual Contributor IIReports to: Manager, CodingResponsibilities:Review operative reports to abstract information and apply CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM codesProvide coding for all Level 2 and some Level 3 procedures (ASC) as well as Level 1 as neededPerform coding for pro fee surgical encountersVerify LCD/NCD information as appropriateUtilize NCCI edits, AMA CPT Assistant, AHA Coding Clinic, and other resources as neededInitiate physician queries as neededEscalate coding/documentation problems when appropriateParticipate in ongoing coding educationPerform other related duties as required/assignedRole Information:Full-Time or Part-TimeHourlyNon-ExemptEligible for Benefits if Full-TimeQuarterly Bonus (based on quality and productivity)Remote: The minimum bandwidth requirements are 10 Mbps upload and 50 Mbps download speeds. The recommended bandwidth requirements are 20 Mbps upload and 100 Mbps download speeds.Job Requirements:Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Education:High School Diploma or equivalentCoding certification through AAPC or AHIMA (CPC, COC, RHIT, CCS, etc., no apprentice designation)2 years outpatient surgical coding2 years of Ambulatory Surgical Center coding experienceExtensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiologyAbility to work independently and as part of a teamFlexibility to assume new tasks or assignments as neededStrong attention to detail and speed while working within tight deadlinesExceptional ability to follow oral and written instructionsA high degree of flexibility and professionalismExcellent organizational skillsOutstanding communications skills; both verbal and writtenPreferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Education:Associate Degree in healthcare related fieldExperience working in an /Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC)Strong Microsoft Office skills in Excel, Outlook, and TeamsPhysical Demands:Sitting and typing for an extended period of timeReading from a computer screen for an extended period of timeSpeaking and listening on a telephoneWorking independentlyFrequent use of a computer and other office equipmentWork environment of a traditional fast-paced and deadline-oriented officeKey Competencies:Job Knowledge/Technical KnowledgeProductivityInitiative/ExecutionFlexibilityQuality Control#J-18808-Ljbffr
